I am writing on behalf of Gan Starling who has worked for me as a Lead Technician and later promoted to an Associate Engineer for the past five years. He was charged with leading the technical and design portion of the automotive chassis test laboratory of which I managed. Gan has a commanding expertise within the fields of servo-hydraulics, electronics and controllers, computer programming, troubleshooting and fixture design. His capabilities and knowledge allowed me to expand the test laboratory to a level that rivaled companies with five times the resources.
One characteristic that is commendable of Gan is his willingness to undertake any project, no matter how complex, and complete that task in a timely and professional manner. The ability of Gan to thoroughly understand many computer languages including, and no way limited to, RPC3 (MTS specific), Perl, C++ , NetBSD, XML and MySQL allows him to have a large "toolbox" from which to solve many diverse problems.
On his annual reviews, Gan was always a star performer within my department because of his knowledge base and departmental contributions.
Unfortunately, his position was recently eliminated within Benteler Automotive. This presents an opportunity for another progressive company to employ a strong knowledge worker like Gan.
