I ran into quite a few folks I know: Jim from the Midway Cafe in Galesburg; and Merl who used to work at Benteler. Tried to introduced myself to a half dozen folks sporting Star Touring patches, but it must not have been a good time as I got kind of a brush off. Their loss as I was about to mention that a certain Royal, one of those on their very own website (mine) was parked just fifty feet up the lane. Or perhaps they did hear and still couldn’t muster the interest. No matter...

After one more walking lap past the outdoor exhibits, I fired up the Royal and took her for a fifty-mile spin north past Hastings, then West for a ways and back on south to Kalamazoo. Turned out a really fine day for riding. And the weatherman had been promising rain. Ha!
