As my sister was visiting from Alabama, Karin and I thought it would be a fine idea for us all to have lunch in South Haven then tour the visiting Columbus ship replicas.

Views from The Idler

The Idler is a paddle wheel boat restaurant. Karin and I got there early, then ended up lunching alone as my sister's puppy was sick and she dare not leave it behind untended.

Ducks Maritime Museum

We next walked across the drawbridge just a little ways upstream and visited the two ships ourselves. These were just next to the Maritime Museum, which we also enjoyed to tour.

Pinta Tall Ship

Besides the visiting Columbus ship replicas, South Haven boasts its own resident replica tall ship, the Friends Good Will, a Great Lakes schooner. While abord the Pinta, that other came crusing up quite nearby. The replica ships were at this other's usual berth. From abord the Pinta, I caught these two photos as the tall ship got turned around with the help of a Zodiac.

Also at the Martime Museum is the Coast Guard life-saving boat used in the movie Their Finest Hours, with a vintage Chris Craft very nearby.
