Dear Mr. Starling,
The roofing contractor is not allowed to change the warranty that exists
between Elk and the purchaser of the shingles.  If Prestique 25 shingles
have been installed on your home, the warranty period will be for 25 years.
On the warranty it states "No person is authorized to alter this limited
warranty either orally or in writing".  The contractor can not legally
change Elk's warranty.

There is indeed a difference between the Prestique II (25 year) shingles
that were applied and the Prestique I (30 year shingles) that you wished to
have.  The Prestique I shingle is heavier, has our High Definition Color,
and has a much coarser and thicker backing material than the Prestique II
does.
