Here we have Skajler graduating from Winchell Elementrary. The flyer sent home from school asked that every child come to the graduation dressed in their Sunday best. Not being church-goers on Sunday, Skajler hadn’t any such special attire. After a bit of ruminating, his dad suggested, “How about if we rent a tuxedo?” Skajler’s first thought was that he really didn’t want to look like a butler. And dad responded, “James Bond also regulary wears a tuxedo, when there is someplace fancy that he needs to be.”
Skajler enjoyed being the sharpest man on campus, even if only for an evening. And he was only slightly put out at not being fully equipted...for the lack of a Walther PPK. He even enjoyed to carry mom’s brownies to the snack table very much as if a butler.
The ceremony was just the right length. A very few speaches, all of them short. A couple of songs by the chior, the last one something to do with rats from one of their school productions, The Pied Piper. Then the diplomas were given out.

Dim lights, loud music, and pizza and soft drinks. Teenager parties don’t seem to have changed at all.
